Atacama Salt Flat
The Natural Monument Atacama Salt is located in the II Region, inside Los Flamencos National Reserve; wonderful landscape that is charcaterized by its salt coast, and mud salts.
The Atacama Salt in the biggest in Chile, with a surface of 3.000 km2 aprox. The air here is really dry, it gives to the landscape a perfect transparency, is easy to look the other extreme of the salt at 70 kms.
Under the salt there is a lake, hidden by a thickness and rough scab of salt, that contains the greater lithium reserves of the world, a mineral used in some industries of high technology and that is operated in the South sector of the salt.
