It is located around 90 km of San Pedro de Atacama, (285 inhabitants, altitude 3,218 ms). Of pre-Hispanic origin, it has strong raigambre atacameña. More than a town, it is a succession of crops in terraces in an ample area that take advantage of the slopes in the sector. There are pretty stone houses and, to its term, a small church is elevated, with a stone tower.
