Day 1: San Pedro de Atacama - White, Green and Red Lagoons - San Pedro de Quemez

08:00 We will cross the Cajón Border Crossing, located 60 kms away from San Pedro de Atacama. Meeting at Hito Cajón at time scheduled to start our trip to the lagoons. First, we will see the impressive Licancabur Volcano, where we will find the White and Green Lagoons. Detention to watch flamingoes at the White Lagoon, and the changing colors of the Green Lagoon.We will continue crossing through the Desert of Dali; where we will stop at the Polques Hot Springs in order to enjoy its warm waters.

We will continue through Sol de Mañana, a volcanic area covered by geothermic gases and burning lava. After we travel a little time, we will get to the unique Red Lagoon, located at 4.100 m.o.s.l. This lagoon has a huge amount of red microorganisms, which colored the water in red and its is also the largest reservation of flamingoes in Bolivia, at least 30.000 flamingoes of three different species. Then, we will pass by the Siloli Desert where the stone tree can be seen. After lunch, we pass by minor lagoons like Honda, Chiarkota, Hedionda y Cañapa. Heading to Hotel de Piedra of San Pedro de Quemes, along Pasito Tun Tun to get to the Ollague volcano viewpoint, salar Chiguana Salt Flat, finally arriving in San Pedro de Quemes.

Day 2: San Pedro de Quemez - Uyuni Salt Flat - Colchani

After our breakfast, we will depart from hotel to visit the old village of San Pedro de Quemez located next to Hotel de Piedra. Passing by Bahia de Mala-Mala, visiting the "Cueva de las Galaxias" (Cave of Galaxies) and "Cueva del Diablo" (Devil's Cave) We will continue to Aguaquiza to testify the largest salt flat in the world. On the route, we will visit to Chantani Museum, the Coquesa mummies and then, we will enter to the stunning Uyuni Salt flat, the highest and largest in the world, covering more than 10.000 Km2 and offering spectacular landscapes in their natural state since their formation. This is a unique place, worth seeing.

Transfer to Inkahuasi Island. We will climb to the top to admire the salt flat. On the way up, we will watch old cacti (grow 1 cm per year) and petrified coral. From the top you can also see the Fish Island, called after that name because of its fish shape.

After lunch, departure to Colchani and transfer to the hotel where we will be able to admire the sunset.

Dinner and acommodation at hotel de Sal Luna Salada o Cristal Samaña.

 

Day 3: Colchani - Uyuni Salt - Colchani - Ojos de Perdiz

After our breakfast, we will depart to Uyuni passing by Colchani where you will be able to see the process of iodized salt, the salt flat and the Uyuni museums. We will continue to the Train Cemetery, San Cristobal to visit the colonial church, Villa Alota, Valle de Rocas and Ojos de Perdiz.

Dinner and accommodation at Hotel del desierto (hotel de Piedra).

 

Day 4: San Pedro de Quemez - Hito Cajón - San Pedro de Atacama

Departure after breakfast along the same Siloli Desert to admire the morning sun, the Red Lagoon, Hot Springs, White Lagoon. Arrival in the Chilean crossing border at Hito Cajón at the scheduled time.

End of services.
