We begin our trip towards the Caspana town located to 3200 meters of height its population is made up approximately of 400 inhabitants. It is characterized by the distribution of its constructions and cultives, that are located in terraces in a beautiful and generous valley; we will visit the most representative of the town, it is church and bell tower which were declared historical monument in 1951., in addition to it we know the old traditions of its settlers and the pre-Columbian Gentilar cemetery next to its peculiar museum; we will have time enough to acquire some crafts made with native materials of the place.

We will go into the deepest of the Atacama desert, being the most barren of the world; following our way we will be surprised once again when finding us next to the Inca Coya lagoon outstanding by its natural beauty until arriving at Chiu Chiu town, this town is located to borders of longest river in Chile the Loa river. Call formerly "Atacama La Chica", it is a small town and of clean layout, with a well-taken care square recovered, in the center of the town is the most beautiful and old church of the region. In this church exists any images in wood that were brought by the Spaniards during XVI century.

For ending our excursion we will make a visit to the Lasana bankruptcy in where is possible to observe, photograph and not to let be surprised with his petrogliphics, which demonstrates us the legacy of the first inhabitants of the town; thus also we were with the Pukará de Lasana, this old indigenous fort, located to 45 kilometers to the northeast of Calama it was built in XII century and it constitutes one of the most important relics of the area atacameñan cultural and of Chile, for that reason was declared National Monument. In its interior it has vestiges of a village fortified raised on high lands, in the Lasana valley, where the villagers lived and worked staying kind and protected. This zone was dominated by the Incas, who raised one of the most important establishments of their great empire there. Tupac Yupanqui was the Inca who imposed his system of life in these atacameñans territories half century before the Spaniards arrived.
